gallery crawl july 15, 2011

This past Friday Zach and I went to the gallery crawl downtown, where all the galleries open their newest exhibits and there are performers and entertainment all throughout the cultural district. We'd never been before, and I think it was a really fun experience. It was interesting to see the galleries full of people--quite the opposite of what I'm used to--and I'd love to do it again.

At Wood Street Galleries we saw "Long are the days, short are the nights," which was all about art from Iceland, and at Space Gallery they had "Drawn in a day," where different artists just painted or drew on the walls for the duration of the day. We also stopped in a few of the smaller galleries, saw some breakdancers, and there was also music and people making s'mores in the sidewalks.
